My work is an autobiographical exploration. The exploration manifests itself with two different approaches. One approach commemorates influential people in my life. Along with these portraits of real individuals, this approach creates amalgamations of people transformed into characters. The second approach is a visual expression of my emotions, influences, experiences, and mental state. These two forms are representations of the outside world and the internal world of my mind. The struggle deals with the worlds of reality, and the dreamscape.
As the work progresses the two existences begin to collide. As these two worlds collide, a new approach is formed, a personal Mythology. This mythology begins with the "Three Obsessions": Art, Sex, and Death. These three hold a high place in the new series called "Cognition".
